Welcome at Hunyuan

The Hanging Monastery (Xuankongsi) at Hunyuan

This is the unbelievable wonderful Hanging Monastery (Xuánkōngsì) at Hunyuan, which “hangs” at the sacred Mount Heng, at five kilometers west of the town Hunyuan, 65 kilometers from Datong.
Built more than 1400 years ago, this temple is unique not only for its location, but also because it includes Buddhist, Taoist, and Confucian elements.

In the cliff were halls made to settle down Buddha statues. With corridors and bridges 40 halls and pavillions are connnected. At the monastery are 80 bronze, iron and stone statues.
